This medieval castle was part of a fortification system which consisted of various structures, whose sole purpose was to protect the area from invaders. The Castle rises on a lofty hill, in the region of Umbria, offering an extraordinary view of the surrounding countryside. The structure is made up of two constructions, built at different times; a square tower dating back to the XI century while the completion of the final construction with the adding on of the second structure to the first building, dates back to the end of the XIV century. The interior has maintained the various levels and window openings of the XIII century, together with the fascinating later characteristics and details of the XVIII century. With the recent historical renovation, two apartments on the third and fourth levels of the tower have been made possible, outfitted with every modern comfort. Each apartment maintains the original structural details, terra cotta floors, wooden beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces, antique doors and a very unique interior, having brought together family heirloom furniture with pieces of modern design. The Castle has also two elegant suites on the II floor. The apartments and the suites can be rented together or separately. The castle is surrounded by a secular park where the owners have reinstated an elegantly planned XVIII century garden, enhanced by a vast collection of precious antique roses. Of particular interest is the XVII century recently restored chapel, encompassed by gardens and particularly suitable for religious celebrations.
