L’Amansara, un tempo villa del Re Norodom Sihanouk, è oggi un riservato resort situato nella vivace città di Siem Reap. Immerso in un giardino rigoglioso offre a i suoi ospiti un atmosfera rilassata e confortevole evocata anche dal nome stesso del resort Amansara che deriva dall’antico Sanscrito aman, pace e apsara, ninfa celeste degli antichi testi Indù. Le 24 suite presenti nell’hotel sono tutte arredate con i tipici colori Indocinesi che vanno dal candido avorio alle più scure tonalità del legno. Tutte le suite sono immerse in un giardino lussureggiante con svariate piscine e fontane che rendono l’ambiente ancora più suggestivo. L’Amansara offre all’interno del giardino una rinfrescante piscina in ardesia circondata da lettini in bambù sottostanti un grazioso pergolato. Nella spettacolare Sala da pranzo, in precedenza Sala per la proiezione dei film del Re Sihanouk, è possibile gustare le prelibatezze locali e non. La Spa, che dispone di quattro sale in legno per piacevoli e rilassanti trattamenti, si avvale principalmente di tecniche terapeutiche cambogiane e utilizza essenzialmente prodotti biologici. Amansara was once the guest villa of King Norodom Sihanouk. The resort is situated in the bustling town of Siem Reap and is set in a private garden compound with the inviting ambience of a gracious home. Amansara derives its name from the twinning of two Sanskrit words – aman or peace and apsara, the heavenly nymphs of ancient Hindu texts. The 24 suites are decorated in a classic Indochinese palette of cool grey, pristine white, dark timber and ivory with private courtyards and soothing water features with 12 offering private swimming pools. This tranquil home has in its private garden enclave: a sultry curved slate swimming pool surrounded by bamboo loungers with a shaded pergola for alfresco delights; the Dining Room, previously the screening room of King Sihanouk, is both dramatic and outstanding with a cavernous seven-metre high ceiling and a well stocked walk-in wine cellar. The Spa, which has four immaculate treatment rooms in dark wood and fresh white, focuses strongly on therapeutic Cambodian techniques using organic products.
